Your active and adventurous lifestyle doesn’t have to end after you have kids. Running with Kids was created by parents, for parents to give you the information, resources, workouts and the courage to get outside and get active with your kids!
Workouts: View, pin, print, share and watch videos of workouts you can do anytime, anywhere with kids! Categories include stroller workouts, park/playground and in-home.
Resources: From stroller friendly hiking trails to where to find the closest playground, you’ll have no excuses to grab your stroller (and kids), get outside and get active!
Challenges: Think you can run 100 miles in 30 days? What about if all those miles are pushing your kids in a jogging stroller. You will never know your limits until you push them. Let’s get started!
Blog: Our contributors are parents, entreprenuers, and athletes who want to share their stories, experiences and insights with you!
About the founder:
I’m Lauren. Thank you so much for visiting my site. I am the mother of 2 amazing little boys, Wyatt (almost 4) and West (1.5 years old) and I created this website for all those parents out there that I know are just like me. Outdoorsy, adventurous athletes, entrepreneurs perhaps who do not want to give up the lifestyle they had before kids.
Who instead want to incorporate their kids into that lifestyle but need some support and direction.
Just a couple fun facts about me and this website to get started, you can read my complete story HERE (although it is pretty long and some would say boring : )
– I am just a big kid at heart. I love to play on the playground (although nowadays playing means fitting in a workout while I chase around my kids).
– Snowboarding comes in at a close 2nd. I met my husband on a chairlift. Let’s just say our kids don’t really have a choice in the matter : )
– I love to be outside. In fact that is an understatement. I would rather be outside than anywhere else. I feel like a caged animal and my kids act like caged animals when we are all inside too long. Which is why I still get out and run with them, even in the snow. And on really bad days we find creative ways to stay active inside.
– I run an event production/marketing company full-time from home and my husband and I have a couple other fitness based start-ups we are working on. Trying to balance being an mompreneur and training for events is not easy!
Hopefully I will have some good tips and insights for you all (mostly what NOT to do).
